Mic Microphone
How I can connect a microphone to a stereo system that does not have a microphone in it?

I wonder this because I I'll be doing some things before I need to use a microphone. I'm going to be using a Kenwood stereo to power the speakers for the Sound System.

You can connect a microphone to a stereo. You will need to buy a cheap Microphone Mixer first: http://www.zzounds.com/item–BEHXENTX502 The tape outputs in the mixer is connected to an unused input on the stereo. Be careful, however, the home stereo system is not designed to be used as a PA system or DJ. You really should consider investing in some real DJ equipment. You can damage your speakers if you push the volume too.

Microphone Placement

It is difficult to overstate the importance of selecting the proper microphone placement for your recordings. There are five options Basic: Spot miking, distance miking, miking ambient stereo microphones, and microphone combo. In this article you will learn a little about each option.

Spot microphones: This location is also known as close miking obvious reasons. Basically means you is placing the microphone close to what you are recording. It is often used to cut the sound of the recording room. Most have no Home Recording acoustically treated recording space as generally do not want most of the room sound.

A big reason people choose to place is miking each instrument can be isolated when many instruments are recorded at the same time. That will give you more flexibility when mixing.

Be aware that the placed closer to the microphone to the source of the bass being logged.

Distant Microphones: This usually means placing the microphone close three or four feet away from the source. People often choose distant microphone when you are trying to get a more natural sound.

The largest microphone distance is negative if you are recording several instruments at once they may have "bleeding" from another source that makes mixing more difficult.

microphones also means that more distant sound of the room will be registered. Unless you have a good understanding of your room acoustics and is well treated, this is usually a bad thing.

Microphones environment: This means you are placing the microphone away from the sound source the room plays an important role in what you are recording. It is clear that this technique is to have a good room sound.

Stereo Microphones: This means that the recording with two microphones to capture the stereo field of the source. A microphone was filtered all the way to the left and the other fine.

If you want to take this concept to the extreme is then want to look into binaural recording.

Combined microphone: As their name suggests, this means combining two or more of the above techniques. The possibilities are endless. I think it's a really good idea of dominating the top four techniques before attempting to mix different techniques together.

A common technique is to combine a microphone with a microphone close environment. That way you get the attack to its source, but you also get the environment to be captured. This can produce a nice natural reverb if you have a good room sound.

Mic placement is a very important part of getting a good sound. It is important to learn how the different positions of microphone sound and continue to experiment with different positions until the sound you want.
