How I can make one color stand out in black and white photo with photoshop elements?
I recently Photoshop Elements and want to edit some black and white photos, while having a bit in the original color. I've heard this can be done very easily through this software. Does anyone know how I can do this … step by step if possible! Thanks
The first thing you do (I have Photoshop Elements 5.0) is after you open the image in Photoshop need to duplicate the layer. 1. Open the image with Photoshop Elements and are sure you are in the "Full Edit" view. 2. If the "Layers" panel is not visible, click "Window" in the menu bar. Also in the selection window to ensure that the "Tools" panel sample. 3. In the Layers panel, right click image and select "Duplicate Layer" and then click OK. 4. Then click the main panel on the image to select it (make sure your cursor is set to the "move" tool-that 's the black arrow with a plus sign in the tool pane. 5. In the menu bar, click Increase the top and then select Convert to Black and White. Click OK and the layer which is working must now black and white as seen in the layers of the panel, a layer of normal color and a layer of b & w. 6. Now there are a couple of ways to cut the B & W or color-changing layer. Can Use the eraser tool, rectangular marquee tool, magnetic lasso, magic wand tool or the selection tool magic. 7. Say you use the rectangular marquee tool. Click on it to "Tools" panel and the cursor will change to that tool. Click the layer that is working in the main panel and drag the cursor to make a selection and release. 8. In the top menu, click Edit and then select "Cut." 9. You now have a layer of b & w with a hole in it and the color layer behind it showing through! Or vice versa depending on the layer upon he worked. 10. "Save As" from the menu bar "File" Well there it is, remember I have Elements 5.0, if you have 6.0 that may be identical or slightly different or a lot do not know. The main thing is the layers and selection tools for this. You can also do it without creating the new layer to the top, but then with the eraser tool does not work for your purpose. Also another thing to know is that you can rearrange the layers from the front or back when the cursor is set in the "Move" tool to search for "arrangements" at the bottom of the toolbar and the layer of forward and backward.
