Can I use external mic with a Digital Camera?
I’m planning to make a short film but I can’t afford a camcorder, only a digital camera that can record video. Panasonic DMC-FX36 seems to be a good one for me.
But I don’t know if it has an external micro input, I don’t want to use the crappy internal one!
Please help me, can I use external mic with DMC-FX36 or any other cameras? (please don’t suggest any camcorder instead)
And also, does it have 2 sockets at the bottom for tripod?

The only digital camera with a Mic Input socket at present is the Canon EOS 5DMk2.
The camera you mention will have a single tripod socket, camcorders have a second hole to accomadate heads with an additional spigot, in most cases the spigot can be removed or will retract if not required.
I would urge caution with using a compact camera for video recording, the resolution is typically low, the frame rate is typically low and the footage is highly compressed to keep the data rate low.
